Hot Turkey or Chicken Salad Casserole Unverified!

Yield: 8 servings


Salad Mixture

  • 3 cups cooked diced turkey or chicken
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper, optional
  • 1/2 cup chopped green celery
  • 3/4 tsp pepper
  • salt, to taste
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

Other Casserole Components

  • 5-6 slices of white bread, for top
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 can mushroom soup


Cube two slices of bread + line bottom of buttered casserole. Then spread salad mixture on top. Cover with remaining bread.

Beat eggs and milk and pour over bread and salad mixture.

Let stand in refrigerator overnight.

When ready to bake, cover with undiluted soup. Just before removing from oven add grilled cheese. Bake in a 325F oven 50 minutes, additional ten minutes for cheese.
