Beef Stroganoff Leta Morrow Unverified!

  • 2 1/2 lbs round steak, cut into 1/2" strips
  • 1/4 cup salad oil
  • salt + pepper
  • 1/2 cup table wine or sherry
  • 1 cup cut onions
  • 2 cups cut fresh mushrooms or canned with liquid
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • 1 can consume*
  • 1/4 tsp monosodium glutamate (Accent)
  • 1 carton sour cream


Brown meat strips in oil. Put in casserole and add salt, pepper and wine. In drippings, saute onions and mushrooms to golden brown (5 minutes).

Mix together paste, consume and flour. Add to onions and mushrooms and add to this mixture the bay leaf, garlic and Accent. Mix well and pour over meat.

Bake 350F - 1 hour or until meat is tender.

When ready to serve stir in sour cream.

Use over cooked rice.
