Tempura Vegetables and Dipping Sauce Unverified!


  • 1 medium zuchhini, julienned
  • 1 bell pepper, seeded and cut into weidges
  • 1/2 medium egplant, thinly sliced
  • oil, for deep frying


  • 3 Tbl soy sauce
  • 1 Tbl sherry
  • 1 tsp sesame seed oil
  • a few shreds ginger or scallion


  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cold water


Prepare vegetables for frying. Heat oil to 375F in deep-frying pan. Whisk the batter ingredients together; do not overbeat. Whisk together sauce ingredients.

Fry vegetables by dipping a few quickly in the batter then into the oil in the basket. Fry for just a minute or until golden brown. Keep additional vegetables in warm oven after they are fried.
