Gum's Cranberry Dressing Mold Unverified!

Yield: Servings
I remember that the funny star-shaped dressing would be popped out of its copper mold on Thanksgiving at Gum's house just before the turkey went out on the table. My mother spent several years after my grandmother's death trying to reproduce the molded jelly with mixed results before finally working out the amount of gelatin to use. I'm not sure whether this recipe reflects my gramma's recipe or my Mom's so don't know if there's the right amount of Gelatin in there or not.

  • 1 pkg cranberries
  • 1/2 pkg gelatin
  • 1 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 cups sugar

Cook cranberries and juice until the berries pop. Strain the mixture and return to the stove. Add the sugar and gelatin and bring to a rolling boil for 3-4 minutes.

Poor mixture into mold and cool to room temperature before refrigerating to set, probably overnight.
