Chef Jessica's Scones Unverified!

Yield: 16 scones
We're not sure where this one came from but the copy came with Susan's handwriting on a dot-matrix...


  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 rinds of orange, freshly grated
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 egs
  • raw sugar, for garnish


Mix toether flour, sugar, baking soda, baking poser and salt. Cut in orange rind and butter. Add in buttermilk and eggs nad hand mix.

On a floured surface divide dough into two 6"-8" rounds and cut each round into 8 wedges.

Place each esdge on a baking sheet and sprinkle with sugar before baking at 325F for 12-15 minutes or until golden.
