In Italy I was hard pressed to create a traditional American BBQ sauce from available ingredients. This series attempts to offer several candidates for a general purpose sauce.
This sauce was originally intended for a spare rib base. It may scope beyond this.
firmly packed brown sugar
In a pot, melt butter and cook onion until tender. Mix in remaining ingredients and simmer for 15 minutes before allowing to cool. Apply to meat during last 15 minutes of cooking.
