Chicken in Paprika Sauce Unverified!

Yield: 6-8 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs chicken pieces
  • 1/4 lb butter
  • 2 large tomatoes or 12 cherry tomatoes
  • 2 green peppers, cut into large pieces
  • 10 small onions
  • 4 celery stalks, cut into small pieces
  • 1/3 of 10 1/2 oz cream of chicken soup
  • 2-3 tsp Hungarian paprika
  • 1/8 tsp red pepper
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1-2 Tbsp corn starch
  • 2 Tbsp cold water, mixed with cornstarch

Preparation

Brown chicken. Add green peppers, onions, tomatoes & celery. Simmer covered for 15 minutes.

Combine remaining ingredients except cornstarch and water in a small saucepan. Heat just to boiling point, stirring constantly.

Pour sauce over chicken and vegetables. Cover and cook over low heat for about an hour or until chicken is fork-tender.

If sauce is thin, thicken with corn starch dissolved in cold water
