Cookies: Cream together sugar and butter. Mix in eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda and salt and mix into cream mixture. Refrigerate to firm up.
Roll out half of dough 1/8" thick and cut with cookie cutters, repeat with remaining dough. Bake 10-12 minutes on a sheet until lightly browned. Cool on rack.
Glaze: heat powdered sugar and lemon juice over low heat until well mixed. Remove from heat and add lemon zest. Allow to cool a bit and drizzle over cookies.
