| 20-28 June 2007 -- Back To Almanor For our first anniversary we decided to go back to the scene of the crime: Plumas Pines Resort on the shores of Lake Almanor in Plumas County. WARNING: Contains sad pictures of Lassen View Resort post-closing. | |
| June 10, 2007 -- Farewell tree Well, we had to finally kill the great tree that dominated the left side of our yard this year. Sadly it had attacked the driveway with great zeal and we were advised that there was no way we could save the tree and maintain a driveway. I grabbed the old camera to document one last time the way things looked before the saw came. | |
| March - May 2007 -- Misc Spring Another grab bag of shots mostly involving sunsets and/or dry ice. What can I say -- they are quiet months here, save for Kings games, of course. | |
| 28 April 2007 -- The Highland Games Well, you know how it goes. Hilary's friend wants to go to the Highland games and it sounds like a good idea 'cause I haven't been since I was driving the Celica.
Ultimately? Not really all that interesting photowise unless you like people. I like people, but only for drawing, it seems, so not as many happy snaps as I might have liked.
| 18 March 2007 -- Daffodill Hill For a long time I've wanted to head up to Daffodill Hill to see the seasonal blooms up there but we always seem to remember it post-facto. Art class provided a little incentive: I was going to need to, like, paint crap on my own. What better subject than this charming old farm. WARNING: mostly pictures, no funny words. | |
| 10-11 March 2007 -- King's Appreciation Well, the Kings decided we season ticket holders needed some wooing and livening up so rather late in the season they held a season ticket holder open house the day before gameday where one got to wander about with players through Arco Arena as well as a nice banquet the next day. Those Maloofs are sure customer oriented! | |
| Misc Winter 2007 A Grab Bag of Kings ganes bad weather, blankets, egrets and Jerry Reynolds. | |
| 22 Feb - 4 March 2007 -- Bormio Redeux Well, Hilary and I were set for babymaking early this spring and decided that we needed to take advantage of the last of our youthful childless status to go have one last big ski adventure while we could still enjoy ourselves and our blessedly alone company. I'd felt remiss in not having her along when I went to Bormio, Italy in 2005 with my buddy Dennis so I dragged her off there on a completely self-planned trip. Granted, lots of it was the same as the last time and I had a pretty good handle on the bus companies and train lines and so forth, but still. Pretty good skiing again despite a kind of dry year and great times fooling around in the alps. | |
| 16-18 Feb 2007 -- Brendan's Bachelor Party Defying the odds, Brendan actually not only found himself a long-term woman but decided he was going to MARRY her. Not only this, but he DID marry her. She actually agreed! Amazing!
I kid -- Jen is a wonderful woman and they are a great pair. In any case, this was a wonderful excuse to head back up to Dunsmuir and have ourselves a little bachelor party. We were blessed with great weather and good times.
| 3 Feb 2007 -- Museum Day Once again into the breach of Museum Day. Hilary's dad came up again to explore our many museums. I think I'm forgetting to take pictures more and more... | |
| 7 Jan 2007 -- Donner Ski Ranch and Truckee So, this is probably one of the smallest sets I've got up from our first-of-the-season trip to Donner Ski Ranch. | |
| 1 Jan 2007 -- New Years stumble(s) I came home after attending two New Year's parties with a fairly good buzz on and lots of energy. The neighbors with the frustratingly occasionally lit Xmas palm had it going on so I decided to go get some snaps. In the time it took to dress up and get my kit, they'd turned it off again, but there were lots of other late-season Xmas lights that I thought were even prettier out-of-season. | |
